之前看过乔帮主的演讲《Stay Hungry Stay Foolish》一直理解不了更深的内容和逻辑。最近脑海中无意中出现了Stay Hungry Stay Foolish，思考了几天试着给自己一个答案。

演讲的背景是05年6月在斯坦福大学毕业典礼上。演讲对象是斯坦福大学毕业生。主要讲了三个故事以及Stay Hungry Stay Foolish的由来。

The first story is about connecting the dots.

My second story is about love and loss.

My third story is about death.

Stay Hungry Stay Foolish的由来是《 The Whole Earth Catalog》期刊（纸质的Google，却比Google早问世了 35 年）最后一期杂志的告别语。

第一个故事讲因果。当找不到做事情的意义的时候跟着好奇心和感觉走，总有一天会有回报。当初乔布斯退学后学习书法课，压根不会想到10年后开发苹果电脑的时候能派上大用场。将技术与艺术完美的结合在一起，可能是乔布斯多年前就已经潜移默化中形成了的习惯。So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.

第二个故事讲爱和失去。当被自己辛辛苦苦创立的公司扫地出门时，乔布斯内心是很难受的，一度想逃离硅谷这个伤心地。I still loved what I did. The turn of events at Apple had not changed that one bit. I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. so I decided to start over.后来乔布斯创立了neXT公司和皮克斯动画电影工作室以及遇到现在的妻子，都分别小有成就，neXT公司研发的技术对乔布斯在苹果公司东山再起有很大帮助。所以找到自己喜欢的事情或者人，不要停下来。

第三个故事是关于死亡。Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most importanttool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking.最重要的是，要有勇气跟随自己的内心和直觉，其他都是次要的。

Stay Hungry Stay Foolish是《 The Whole Earth Catalog》期刊最后一期杂志的告别语。最后一期的封底上是一张清晨乡间小路的照片，联想到在座的都是刚毕业的学生以及上面讲的三个故事，我对Stay Hungry Stay Foolish的理解是：一段路程结束，另一段路程又开始，追寻自己的好奇心和直觉，做自己喜欢的事，永远不要停下来，像个傻子一样坚持，记住你即将死去，要为自己而活。乔布斯希望自己做到，也希望在场的毕业生做到。And I have always wished that for myself.I wish that for you. Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.
